We haven't been for a few years. The railway is great and you get free ride or discount if in 1940s kit.  It's a bit of a way for us Sharon and me) as we like to take WWII vehicles and kit.  There used to be a large field for use, but now just the railway area and there isn't much of it.

If this is the Buckfastleigh event, I have been a few years in a row now and it is always a great day out,

there is use of a field in Staverton which you can get to via the railway, This year it was used by First Wave 44 LHG and they had a fantastic display,

The event is always worth a look into, a good 95% of people that attend are in 1940's attire, there are even some Gerries about!

Well, just to throw in my two pennies worth; I've attended this event almost every year since it began in 1994ish!
It's had some good years and some very good years, with the odd indifferent one thrown in between; but, I wouldn't miss it for the world!
If you've not been, go with an open mind; don't expect historical perfection, simply enjoy being in a great location, with lovely like minded people and above all have a great time!
