Description

Avon Valley 1940's Weekend

Website

Avon Valley Railway is a heritage railway situated between Bristol and Bath and we are writing to introduce our 1940s Weekend, which will take place on 16 and 17 September this year.  It has been a well-established local event but was paused for both the pandemic and, last year, the war in Ukraine.

There will be re-enactors portraying life during the period and vintage vehicles on display. There will be a chance to meet ‘Winston Churchill’ and enjoy acclaimed singer Jayne Darling. Visitors will be able to experience a slice of vintage life and travel on one of our steam-hauled trains too.

Exhibitors and re-enactors taking part are able to stay over locally, some using a campsite just a short walk from Bitton station, where the event takes place.

We noticed that you list local events on your website and would like to have our event listed there too.  I would be grateful if you could let me know whether this is possible and how we would go about it.

You can read more on our website at https://www.avonvalleyrailway.org/events/bitton-at-war-1940s-weekend/.

I am also attaching our registration form in case you are able to share this with your members.  - Entry form - https://www.avonvalleyrailway.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/1940s-Exhibitor-Registration-form-2023.pdf

We are grateful for any support you are able to offer.

Kind regards

Roger Chapman
